Cape Kennedy

This is what I grew up with for space travel. We would vacationed in Florida and I went to Cape Kennedy before it was Cape Canaveral. I have a very old and bad Polaroid of me standing with this in the background. I don't know which one it was.  But my love of space has always been with me; born I believe from my mother's interest in space. I love the night sky with all the stars alive and shinning.

Animal House

What can be said about this? A classic.

Kemper was even offered the opportunity to have it made there. I am glad we didn't. Still, it might have been cool. And who know what would have happened, had that had happened. Would we have gotten the crap people of the last 4 administrations of Kemper? Would Kemper have survived? Would have, could have, should have....whats done is done.

Still love this movie. Always will.

Another country free

If we help we are condemned. If we don't we are condemned. I would rather help out and and been condemned than do nothing and watch bullies win. Does that make the US the world's police force?

Flag of the US

To me there is no prettier flag than that of the United States. The history behind it. I hold it in very high regards.

And men and women who I respect, love and honor, also feel the same way I do.

America

Have we forgotten what we had to do to be free of England's tyranny? That was nothing to whats going on now.

America was founded

Yes.

Always say "Yes"

Yep! You never know.
The dice never lie.

Always be yourself

I used to get asked, when I was in my Star Trek monster maroons, who was I trying to be. No, I wasn't Kirk; I was just me.

All you can do is laugh

Been to that point? I've bee there so long. That's why I always have a smile on my face.  What else can you do?

Romantic old fashioned date

I was raised with that old-fashion thinking. But at the time, girls and then women, still thought that even a goodnight kiss would lead to something. Or at least that how it seemed to me. If I go out any more, I'm not even thinking that. I'd just like there to be a second date

Alignment Chart - Star Trek

I agree that the Romulans are Lawful Evil while I would think Klingons more Chaotic Neutral or Neutral Evil. They might be Lawful Evil, but with definite Chaotic tendencies, despite their 'codes.' Just my opinion.

Aliens of Star Trek

Just a nice picture of a lot of the aliens of Star Trek.

Aliens invade the moon

This one of those memes that you think;
hmmmm, you know, that's right.

Alice

No Cheshire Cat in here, but a kick-ass looking Alice. I have always liked this guy's art work. Cheesecake, sure. Still like it.

Airborne School

In my younger days, I would have done this in a heart beat.

AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY!

Airborne!

Airborne! Gaskill probably loves this meme. 👍

US Air Force

I love the memes about the different military branches.

Ain't scared

I have known a few guys like that.

Hat toss

This is a great action shot.  Having thrown my hat in the year 6 different times, there is something, and the only way I can say it is, orgasmic about it.  This shot is also very nostalgic for me; I wore a yellow sash just like them. The last time I threw my hat in the air, it was the beginning of a new chapter. A new life. I thought that particular life would go on forever. I was wrong. It took a while to readjust. I miss those days and those people so much at times it hurt.

Abrams Star Wars

 I love these memes.

He should apologize

I am not a fan of Jon Stewart and I am really not a fan of J J Abram's Star Trek. He has hurt the Trek universe in my opinion. And while I don't think it happened like this, I think its funny and so true. JJ should apologize what he has done.

About last night...

I liked this movie when it came out and I watched it a few months ago and its still funny. Decent soundtrack. Brings back the memories of the 80's.

What came you here to do?

“And now, my brethren,
What came you here to do?
When you joined our mystic circle,
Had you a purpose in your heart
To be of service to your fellow man,
And perform your allotted part?
Or came you out of curiosity
Or motives personal in view?
Tell me brother of the square,
What came you here to do?
Have you failed to grasp the meaning
Of the symbols of our chart?
Have you learned to subdue your passions
And make improvement in your art?
Do you always, always uphold the trusts
On which we firmly stand,
Teaching the Fatherhood of God
And the Brotherhood of Man?
Have you been willing to id the brother
When life surges were fierce and wild?
Have you offered cheer and comfort
To the Mason’s widow, wife and child?
If you have done so, my brother,
You are a Mason good and true,
And can give you a correct answer
What came you here to do?”
The Masonic News

I read this on a pamphlet on the first time in my lodge when my father, a Past-Master took me to join. I have always been glad that my father and Chief saw me return my degrees.

A wolf

Enough said.

A true leader

A dear friend loves McArthur.  I am more a Patton man, but then I also hold Audey Murphy in high regards.

A Man

I agree.

A Knight in Shining Armor

Someone once told me:

If she needs to be rescued, shes not the one.

If she wants to be rescued, she is really not the one.

I got to stop looking for princesses in towers. They are there for a reason. I want the one who has escaped hers.

A Free People...

Always have been and always will be a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment. And love George Washington.

Trek Bloodbath

We may joke about 'redshirts' but they did their job.  And only 1 security died in this episode; Devil in the Dark.

Mason

I am proud to be a Mason. I have been one for 34 years. I wish I could devote more time to it but only have so many hours in the day. I am glad my father and Chief saw my degree work.

1979 Buick Skyhawk with the Roadhawk package

My father had an agreement from when I was a young kid. If I didn't smoke or drink, he would get me a new car for my 21st birthday.

Well, I got this car during my 16th year. Of course it stayed at the house until I could have it at Kemper.

The only real exposure I had to cars was at Kemper. Erickson has that kick ass white Trans-Am with the t-tops. Connors had his red 240-Z Toyota. There might have been a few others but those were the only ones I knew. And dad had a green Nova. So when I got back from ROTC Summer camp, dad took me to Ruether's in Glasgow. It was sitting there and I feel in love.

Front and rear spoilers, AM/FM/8-track, hatch-back and had a sunroof! My dad looked at the car and simply said, "It has bucket seats.' I said yeah, so. He just shrugged. I didn't understand until I tried to fit two people in the back seat and my father's voice came back to me loud and clear. Well dad, that's why it was a hatch-back, just fold down the rear seat and ta-da! More room.

Anyway, I l o v e d that car and I was stupid to "up-grade" to a yuppie car while going to college. That car took me on adventures with so many wonderful people. So many memories that it would take years to recount them all, and now they are fading like the leaves from trees.

But that picture, of that car, MY car. Takes me to another time. A better time with a group of men and women who made me  better person.

John Denver

To me John Denver's music and voice identified the 70s. Of course I have always loved the troubadours - story tellers with songs. From Harry Chapin, Jim Croce, Barry Manilow... that's why I never got into punk or grung or the 'explicit' rapper lyrics. Also too much bass can kill any song.  I guess that's why John Denver's music was crisp and fresh.

1776

Why is this so hard for some?

Opportunity

We all have them. That one time we risked it. Maybe at a job, or with the opposite sex. I remember asking this one beautiful lady for her number after talking with her 15 min, as I felt a connection. I got it. But, it never went anywhere as she got back with her boyfriend. Still; I count it as a victory in the battle of the sexes. I would have never done that years ago; hell even months ago. It just felt right. But anyway, I digress.

I took a chance at least.

Run Away

Haven't we all thought about running away? I once met a an American Indian who was a preacher and we were swapping bad time stories. He told me about a time him and his family were down to staying in a tack shed up in the Dakotas. I told him there were times that was preferable  to what was going on.

No matter what, you can never run far enough away from yourself. As an old friend said, 'If you go down, go down on your face.' Considering he was a former 82nd ABN/18th ABN MP and is currently a US Air Marshall, that's good advice. But let me break it down to the civilians in the group; if you go down, you go down facing your enemy-whatever your enemy is.

I have no plans on running anymore.

Matt Smith as the Doctor

Ok, I know people who hated when Tennant left. I did too, but I will admit I actually thought that Matt Smith did a better job in some areas. It would actually be trying to compare apples to cattle. And River Song; those two had chemistry. And again, River would be many  a fantasy. Talk about about someone who would go through time for those who she cares about.  But also talk about one of the most confusing time travel ribbons ever. Ray Steven had sung the song, "I'm my own Grandpa" and talk about being very appropriate for that particular story arch. It was also painful to see him leave.

I loved it when he and Tennant got to share the same 'time.'

Spoilers!
